Fluenzy ("we", "our", "us") is an online tutoring platform that connects students with expert tutors for live 1-on-1 sessions in Languages (French, Spanish, German) and Music (Guitar, Piano, Singing). Our platform is accessible at fluenzy.online and through our mobile applications.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Name, email address, phone number when you register or book a session
- Payment information (processed securely via Razorpay/PayU — we do not store card details)
- Communication content between students and teachers through our platform
- Session notes, progress records and learning materials uploaded by tutors
- Profile information including education background, experience, and profile photo
- Reviews and ratings you submit about tutors
- Community posts, comments and messages you share on our platform
Information collected automatically:
- Device information, browser type and operating system
- IP address and approximate location (country/state level only)
- Pages visited, time spent on the platform and features used
- Session attendance records and learning progress data
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide our service: Matching students with tutors, scheduling sessions, processing payments, sending session reminders and receipts
- To personalise your experience: Recommending courses, tracking learning progress, customising your dashboard
- To communicate with you: Account updates, session confirmations, promotional offers (which you can opt out of), and important policy changes
- To improve our platform: Analysing usage patterns, fixing bugs, developing new features
- For safety and security: Detecting fraud, preventing abuse of our platform and complying with legal obligations
- For marketing purposes: Sending you relevant course recommendations and offers — only with your consent
We will never sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following circumstances:
- With your tutor: Your name, learning goals, session notes and progress are visible to your assigned tutor to facilitate effective teaching
- With payment processors: Razorpay and PayU receive payment data to process transactions. They are PCI-DSS compliant and governed by their own privacy policies
- With service providers: We use trusted third-party services (email delivery, video conferencing via Jitsi, analytics) who are contractually bound to keep your data confidential
- When required by law: If we receive a valid legal request from government authorities, we may be required to disclose certain information
- In case of business transfer: If Fluenzy is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new entity. We will notify you before this happens
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in India and the European Union, protected with:
- 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest
- Two-factor authentication for administrative access
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- Strict access controls — only authorised personnel can access your data

6. Your Rights
Under applicable Indian data protection laws and GDPR (for EU residents), you have the right to:

8. Children's Privacy
Our platform can be used by students of all ages. For students under the age of 13, we require verifiable parental consent before creating an account. Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.
9. Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active plus:
- Financial records: 7 years (required by Indian tax law)
- Session records and notes: 3 years after last session
- Communication records: 2 years
- Marketing data: Until you opt out or 2 years of inactivity
After these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email and by displaying a prominent notice on our platform at least 30 days before changes take effect.
Continued use of Fluenzy after policy changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
